An Afternoon in May
This was just a quick video of my daughters. Nothing fancy, just something I like. The music is by Thomas Newman from Finding Nemo.
WTF… some raw footage
Last week I was downtown and at the airport shooting some footage for a new show’s title sequence. The show is WTF (What The Future…) produced by Re:source Media. The shoot was directed by Dennis Chan and the host/producer is this really nice South African fella named Warren Kimmel. I’ll be editing the final intro [...]
The Fire Dept.
This past Thursday I got to take my daughter to the Alliston Fire Dept. for a class trip. She was excited to go, and so was I. Who doesn’t want to check out fire trucks up close?
New site… again.
After some time I’ve been diggin’ around and finally settled on a new web-site layout… for now. I like the look of it. It’s a Graphpaper Press theme, and they do have some pretty cool designs that suit photo/video/design portfolio sites… and then today I got this months issue of PDN magazine and what do [...]
Charlee
Just a couple of shots of my brother-in-law’s dog, Charlee. She’s a cool & aging chocolate lab and it was a nice day to be outside. Shot with the 5d, and the 24-105mm L series lens. One at 24mm, the other at 105mm, both wide open and at 800iso.
A Tree Film
I recently bought myself the Canon 5d MkII. The reason I sucked it up and spent the cash on the camera was because I actually needed to shoot some HD footage for a project I’m working on. Instead of renting and hiring a camera guy for basically the same price for a few seconds of [...]
The Blues & Beyond!!
I just set up a blog site for Jay, Laurie, Sydney and Marley. The Blues are heading over to the U.K. later this year to do some incredible work. Go check out the blog to see what their up to, keep up with what their doing and if you’d like, lend them a helping hand. [...]
Lifeguards Save Lives
Earlier this week I put together another shoot for this water park project i’m working on. For you technically inclined people… I shot the pool scenes with my Canon 5d Mk II, using 2 lenses. The 135mm L and the 24-105mm L IS. Tad from Storystream helped set up the shoot and we did the [...]
The Screen is Green
Just finished a day of green screen shooting downtown at Sterling Studios. The shoot was for a project I’m co-producing and directing right now with Forrec Ltd. The final product is set for a mid-April deadline, which is when I’ll be able to actually get into the details of what its all about. Anyway, it [...]
Sarah, Matt & Nate in the Fall
Sarah, Matt and Nate… we shot this at the Tottenham Conservation Area this past fall. I think my favourite shot is the 12th one below. I don’t know what Nate was doing, but it was funny. It was funny wasn’t it Sarah?
Alliston Ice
This is a shot of the ball diamond in Alliston. Every winter they turn the whole infield into a big sheet of ice and set up a couple of nets on the base path between 1st and 2nd. It was a school day so there was no game to be seen this morning. Maybe next [...]
The Magazine House
I recently completed an effects shot for a client in Texas. They wanted a house to appear out of a cyclone(ish thing) of magazines, but they didn’t want to do it in a 3d program because of the cost. That’s where me and After Effects came in and after i pushed a few buttons and [...]
Published stuff…
A little while ago I submitted 4 photos to a local magazines inagural photography issue, Images of South Simcoe, and what do you know… a couple got selected. Anyway, it was cool to see the pictures in print. Here are the shots that made it….
The First Irondale Visit of ’10
Just got back from our first trip up to Irondale of the new year. We did a quick trip up to do some toboganning in some of the coldest weather and deepest snow possible. Nothing a good snowsuit, campfire and cup of hot chocolate can’t handle though.
New York
Went to New York in December to meet up with some friends. Had a great time, didn’t really shoot that much stuff. Here’s some of what I did shoot. If you want to see the dedicated gallery just click here… otherwise.
For Sale Direct Commercials
I just completed a commercial campaign for a new real estate company. ForSaleDirect is actually a sell by owner real estate company. Anyway, the people associated with ForSaleDirect are great, and the brand of the company is really simple and cool so I enjoyed coming up with a motion design that fit into their established [...]
Jeff, Jess and Monty
Took a few quick shots for Jessica and Jeff with the newest member of the family, Monty. They ended up using the one where Jeff is making out with Monty as their ’09 Christmas card. Here are the rest….
The Horsey’s Hit the Badlands…
Two weeks ago I met up with Heather, Dave, William and Alex at the Badlands for their family shoot. The weather was kinda gross… but not horrible. The rain held off until about the last half hour of shooting… so, with grey skies all day I took a few liberties and photoshoped in some nicer [...]
Mary and Rob Engagement at Fairy Lake
Had a great time last Friday shooting my great friend Mary and this guy she’s going to marry. His name is Rob. Rob is cool. He has offered to cook meat for my wife and I. Cooked meat is great to eat. I will attend. The shoot was fun, at least I had a good [...]
The House in the Woods
A while back I shot this house here in Tottenham for a realtor. The house was built back in the 60′s and it is a very cool bungalow. Each room on the main floor has access to the wrap around porch. The fireplace in the living room was a pretty cool site as was the [...]
A Day With The Blues
A couple of weekends ago I did a photo shoot for some good friends. The Blues are shipping out on a 2 year mission next August and wanted to have some family shots to use for their newsletters. It was a rainy overcast day, but the kids had fun and we got some good shots.
360 in T.O.
My favourite band rolled into town last week and put on an incredible show. The first show in Toronto for U2′s 360 tour is the 9th time I’ve seen the band and it was basically what I had expected it to be… amazing. Visually it’s one of the most incredible stage and light show you [...]
The Badlands
I came across the Caledon Badlands earlier this year when my neighbour told me about them. Anybody that lives in the area, you should take the time to go check them out. They are a pretty incredible site the first time you see them as they definitley do not look like they belong in the [...]
