First Skate
This is a short film of the kids skating on a backyard rink. I shot everything with the 5d MkII and because of the low light, I went with the 50mm 1.8 plastic fantastic lens. I think I had it wide open at f/1.8 the whole time. I didn’t write down anything so I can’t remember what ISO I was at, but I don’t think I went above 320 and the lowest I had my shutter speed was about 1/10. Not the greatest technical notes…
Edited in FCP. The title was a simple tracking shot done in AE CS5. Colour corrected with Colorista II in FCP. The music is by Newmarket’s Tokyo Police Club. It’s a solid acoustic version of Tesselate.
